Smothered Shrimp

dice the onion

mince the  garlic cloves

deseed and slice  the bell pepper

chop the parsley

heat oil and butter  over medium high, place shrimp  in a single layer, sprinkle with  Cajun seasoning

sear 1 minute  per side,  remove from skillet

add bell pepper,  onion and garlic,  cook for 3 minutes

stir in flour

add chicken broth,  bay leaf and peas,  bring to a boil,  then simmer for  5 minutes

toss in parsley  and shrimp,  simmer for 1 minute
