Persian Style Chicken with Rice

combine chicken with  oil, salt, pepper,  paprika, garlic powder  and lemon juice

massage chicken with the spice mixture,  set aside

dice the onion

mince the  garlic cloves

roughly chop the almonds

heat oil and butter over medium in an ovenproof skillet,  add chicken

cook 5 minutes per side

remove from skillet

add garlic  and onion,  cook until fragrant

add salt, pepper,  cumin, sumac  and coriander

add rice,  toast for  1 minute

pour in  chicken broth, bring to a boil

cook for  8 minutes

stir in chickpeas

add chicken

cover,  simmer for  5 minutes

sprinkle with almonds, bake for 20 minutes  at 400°F/ 200°C
