add ingredients for the meatballs to a bowl

mix until just combined

roll into meatballs

chop the chorizo

thinly slice bell pepper

finely chop the onion

mince the garlic

mince the garlic

heat a large non-stick skillet, add oil and butter

add chorizo, cook until crispy

remove, leaving chorizo grease in the skillet

add meatballs

brown on all sides,turning frequently, about 8 minutes

remove from skillet

add onion and garlic, sauté until soft

deglaze with chicken broth, simmer for 2 minutes

add bell pepper, cook for 5 minutes

stir in spices

add crushed tomatoes

add tomato paste

add black beans, bring to a simmer

return meatballs to the skillet

stir gently, simmer for 15 minutes

top with chorizo

finish off with cilantro
