Greek Style Spaghetti

dice the carrot

mince the  garlic cloves

dice the onion

heat oil over  medium high, add onion and garlic

add carrot, cook for 5 minutes

add ground beef, break up into pieces

add salt, pepper,  sugar, oregano,  thyme, cinnamon, cloves and bay leaves,  cook for 5 minutes

pour in red wine, simmer for 2 minutes

stir in tomato paste

pour in  crushed tomatoes, simmer for 15 minutes

meanwhile,  boil spaghetti  al dente in  salted water

when ready,  add 1/2 cup cooking water  to the sauce

drain the spaghetti

toss with sauce
