cut bacon  into lardons

mince the  garlic cloves

boil pasta  al dente in  salted water

heat oil over  medium high

add butter

add bacon

cook until  golden brown

remove from skillet

add garlic, cook for 1 minute

deglaze with  white wine

stir with a  wooden spoon to dissolve  the brown bits

add salt, pepper,  red pepper flakes  and sage

scoop up 1/2 cup cooking water

drain the pasta

add to skillet

add 1/4 cup  cooking water

add peas, simmer for  2 minutes

stir in spinach

pour in cream

gradually  stir in Parmesan

lastly,  stir in bacon
