Baked Hamburger Steaks

blend the saltine crackers, combine with ground beef, egg, salt, pepper and dried onion

roll into  8 equal balls

heat oil and butter,  add balls,  press down until  ¾ inch (2 cm) thick

sear 2 minutes  per side, remove

add sliced onion and minced garlic,  cook for 3 minutes

 stir in  thyme and flour

pour in beef broth  and cream,  simmer for 2 minutes

return hamburger steaks to the skillet

bake for 20 minutes  at 350°F (180°C)
