Apple and Gruyere Bacon Wrapped Chicken

cut the apple  into thin slices

dice the shallot

mince the  garlic cloves

slice the chicken open  horizontally lengthwise,  not cutting through,  season with salt, pepper,  paprika and garlic powder

layer with cheese  and apple slices,  wrap with bacon

heat oil and butter  over medium,  add chicken

sear 3 minutes  per side

remove from skillet

add garlic  and shallot,  cook for  2 minutes

stir in flour

deglaze with  chicken broth,  simmer for  2 minutes

pour in cream,  bring to a simmer

add chicken

top with thyme  and black pepper,  bake for 15 minutes  at 350°F/ 180°C
