Ingredients for this salmon cocktail recipe

  • Warm smoked salmon: This type of salmon is smoked at higher temperatures, giving it a firm, flaky texture with a rich, smoky flavor. You can find it in most supermarkets, or substitute with poached salmon or gravlax.
  • Lettuce: Use butterhead, romaine, or iceberg lettuce for a crisp, fresh base.
  • Cherry tomatoes: Look for firm, sweet cherry tomatoes for the best flavor.
  • Egg: Hard-boiled, a classic addition that adds a nice texture.
  • Lemon wedges: Perfect for topping, so everyone can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to taste.
  • Microgreens: For garnish and a fresh pop of color, you could substitute with parsley leaves.
  • Mayonnaise: Use egg-based mayonnaise without lemon flavor. Regular, light or non-fat options all work.
  • Ketchup: Simple tomato ketchup for the classic cocktail sauce base.
  • Tabasco: Optional.
  • Whiskey: Adds a rich depth of flavor. Swap with bourbon or skip if avoiding alcohol.
