- No tomato paste? Skip it. The Worcestershire sauce adds depth, but it’s totally optional, no need to buy a whole bottle just for this.

- Cook the ground beef just until it’s no longer pink. Avoid browning or crisping, it can dry out the meat.

Ground Beef Cabbage Skillet
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil - divided
- 1.1 pound ground beef
- 1 yellow onion - diced
- 1 garlic clove - minced
- 2 carrots - peeled and grated
- ½ green cabbage - chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil over medium in a large heavy bottomed skillet. Add ground beef and break up into pieces. Cook just until no longer pink. Remove from skillet.
- Add the remaining oil, garlic, onion and carrots. Sauté for 2 minutes. Add salt, pepper, paprika and cabbage. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Stir in tomato paste. Then add Worcestershire sauce, beef broth and ground beef. Stir to combine. Cover and simmer over medium low for 10 minutes. Taste and adjust salt. Enjoy!
