boil pasta until  al dente  in salted water

meanwhile, add  almonds, pecorino, garlic and salt to your  food processor,  mix into a coarse mixture

add tomatoes, basil, pepper, chili flakes and olive oil, pulse until combined

scoop up 1/2 cup  cooking water,  drain the pasta

return pasta to pot, add tomato pesto  and finish off with black pepper
