Creamy Orzo with Charred Scallions

roughly chop the hazelnuts

chop scallions into 1 inch / 2,5 cm parts

chop the thyme leaves

mince the garlic

heat your skillet  over high, toast the hazelnuts, remove from skillet

heat oil over high, add scallions, cook 5 minutes until charred

turn off the heat, stir in garlic

add maple syrup, salt, chili flakes and lemon juice

remove from skillet, combine  with hazelnuts

add oil, garlic and thyme, cook for 1 minute

add orzo,  salt and pepper, toast for 1 minute

pour in vegetable broth, bring to a boil

simmer for 8 minutes, stir frequently

next, stir in mascarpone, simmer for 2 minutes

top with charred scallion mixture

garnish with thyme and black pepper
