cajun garlic butter cod

pat the cod fillets dry,  season both sides  with salt, pepper,  garlic powder and  Cajun seasoning

dice the shallot

mince the  garlic cloves

chop the parsley

heat  oil and butter over medium high, add cod fillets

sear 3 minutes, turn and sear 2 minutes more

remove from skillet

add garlic  and shallot, cook for 2 minutes over medium low

stir in  salt, pepper, sage, paprika and chili flakes

deglaze with chicken broth

add butter,  stir until melted

add asparagus and parsley, cook for  3 minutes

add cod, simmer for  3 minutes

sprinkle with lemon juice

top with  parsley and  black pepper
